Account Templates give every Account the same structure while keeping its data specific to that Account. Build one for a repeatable view, then publish it to all Accounts, Accounts in selected Segments, or specific Accounts.
Create an Account Template
If you are an admin, start in Operations. This is where your team creates and manages Account Templates.
- Open Operations, then select Lens Templates.
- Select New Lens Template.
- Enter a name and an optional description that helps other admins understand when to use the template.
- For Scope, select Account Lens Template.
- Select Create.
Choose a Preview Account
Choose a Preview Account so you can work with real customer data while you build the template.
- Select Preview Account.
- Search for and choose an Account.
The Preview Account supplies data while you build. It does not decide which Accounts receive the template when you publish it.
Build the Template
Add the Frames, layout, and styling that you want every assigned Account to share. You can configure Frame content and style, arrange the layout, choose a Lens background, and add labels to organize the view. Select Save when the template is ready.
Publish the Account Template
Publish the template when it is ready to appear on Account Profiles.
- Open Lens actions, then select Publish.
- Choose which Accounts receive the template:
- All Accounts: Publish it to every Account.
- Accounts in Segments: Select one or more Account Segments.
- Select Specific Accounts: Search for and select individual Accounts.
- Select Publish.
To change the audience later, open Lens actions, select Edit Publishing, then update the Accounts and select Save. Select Unpublish to remove the template from its assigned Accounts.
FAQs
Why do I not see data after I create the template?
Choose a Preview Account, then add a Frame. The template uses the selected Account's data while you build.
Does choosing a Preview Account publish the template to that Account?
No. Publishing is a separate step where you choose all Accounts, Accounts in selected Segments, or specific Accounts.
